Hello, I'm Jane...
I'm a botanical illustrator, inspired by the countryside and by slow, seasonal living. Softly noticing things around me - quiet allotment days, the garden buzzing with wildlife, and gentle strolls through nearby ancient woodland and East Anglian coast.
I work from my Suffolk studio at home, translating what I see – woodland and cultivated flowers, garden and coastal birds - by hand, on an iPad, using Affinity.
Illustration came after a career as a graphic designer - I found my way to it gradually, alongside gardening - and it's where I've belonged ever since.
Some of that work becomes pattern - printed onto fabric and tea towels - something both beautiful and useful in your own home or bought by the metre for your own interiors or projects.
I care about how things are made, and the impact that it has. My card and paper products are carbon offset through the World Land Trust where possible, my packaging is sustainable, biodegradable and plastic free, and everything is produced here in the UK.
Alongside my own studio work, I co-own The Handmade Shop & Gallery in Bury St Edmunds - a small collective of East Anglian makers.
Trade enquiries are welcome, for greetings cards only.
Pause and stay here a while...
